Rob has worked in IT for over 30 years. Trained as an expert Systems “Knowledge Engineer” and VAX Rdb Database specialist in the 1980’s, he became a consultant to a global IT corporation for 15 years, working on major projects in Munich, Geneva, Boston, Los Angeles, France, the UK and Eire. Rob has also supervised PhD students at Trinity College, Dublin and won an award for innovation from the University of Southampton, UK.
Rob’s experience in IT and web based design goes right back to its inception when he was located and worked in Ferney-Voltaire, the region most famous for Tim Berners-Lee and the birth of the internet.
Prior to coming to Australia in 2001 he worked as a Research and Development Manager of UK and Europe’s largest on line job search web site.
He has since established himself as a leading edge .Net developer and specialised in both implementing, maintaining and enhancing web based applications in a variety of commercial and industrial settings, utilising cutting edge IT technology.
He has also worked as a Project Manager on a range of projects for the RAAF (Orion Simulator), Sea Gas Pipeline and managed the implementation of Highjump for the Australian operation of an international logistic company.
As an expert software developer he is able to develop, build and maintain the web site back engine so critical to ensuring the branding design, imagery and content actually works.
He recognises that clients require more than simple, pretty pictures, basic functions and shopping carts. Clients are now demanding increasingly complex sites that truly engage with their intended audience.
